There are a number of actions that we ask you, our delegates, sponsors and exhibitors, to undertake to help us minimise waste, energy, and water consumption during the event:
Plastic bottles, single use cups and packaging are not allowed. To reduce single use cups, we will have water refill stations around the venue with glasses for use. Our coffee carts will only use crockery mugs. You are also welcome to bring your own water bottles and reusable cups.
We encourage you to take public transport, walk, share a private vehicle or bicycle to the venue. There is a bike valet provided by Bike Auckland. Enjoy free secure bike, scooter or skateboard parking, so that you can enjoy the event worry-free. Bike Auckland will be there to help register your bike to 529 Garage, an anti-theft and bike recovery database. The bike valet will be open: Monday 7.30am-6.30pm and Tuesday 8am-6pm.
We encourage all attendees and speakers to offset the carbon emissions resulting from their travel to and from the venue.
All catering is vegetarian or plant based.
We use digital signage and an event app in place of single-use print.
All waste at the event is measured, sorted and disposed of appropriately.
We work with a number of suppliers where sustainability is at the heart of their operations:
Collective
This year we are working with Collective to provide the catering and beverages for the event. Collective is Aotearoa’s first Certified B Corp caterer, they are committed to meeting high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency. The business prioritises locally sourced ingredients, works to minimise food waste through prevention and redistribution initiatives, and maintains standards for responsible supplier engagement. It measures key environmental indicators including energy use, waste and greenhouse gas emissions, and sets targets to improve performance over time.
All catering provided will be vegetarian or plant based. Food waste will be removed from the conference venue, measure, sorted and disposed of appropriately.
All non-alcoholic beverages and beers will be served via tap or alternative systems that eliminate glass bottle waste.
As an exception to the above, Light and 0% beers will be served in cans. All empty cans will be recycled through the Cans for Kai initiative, which supports local food redistribution.
